32 arrests in Alihan Kuriş criminal organization investigation

Within the scope of the investigation carried out by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the Alihan Kuriş Criminal Organization, 32 people, including Alihan Kuriş, were arrested, and a judicial control order was issued for 6 people.

While it was determined that a total of 191 real estate belonging to Kuriş and his family were found during the investigation, the center of the group operating under the name of "Union of Islamic Cultural Centers (VIKZ)" in Germany, which is under construction and expected to shift all its activities after its completion, was viewed.

The approximately 70 million euro complex, built on an area of ​​approximately 12 thousand 600 square meters, is expected to be one of the most important centers of VIKZ in Germany when completed.

IT HAS 17 THOUSAND 763 SQUARE METERS OF USE AREA

The complex, whose foundation was laid on the 50th anniversary of VIKZ on March 14, 2023, is expected to be completed in the summer of 2027. The center, which will have a usable area of ​​17 thousand 763 square meters, is planned to include management units, as well as training and meeting halls, a masjid, a student dormitory, a guest house, a restaurant, a library and social areas. It is stated that the gross floor area of ​​the project is approximately 32 thousand 800 square meters. The center is planned to have a prayer area for 881 people, a student dormitory with 231 beds and a guest house with 114 beds, and a parking lot for 172 vehicles.

In addition to VIKZ President Ali Yılmaz and board members, local administrators of Cologne, former Cologne Metropolitan Mayor Fritz Schramma, representatives of the Müngersdorf Citizens' Association, the priest of the neighboring Catholic church and representatives of the architectural team attended the groundbreaking ceremony. It is stated that the financing of the giant complex is provided by member contributions, donations and loans.

On the other hand, within the scope of the investigation against the Alihan Kuriş profit-oriented criminal organization, allegations that the headquarters building under construction in Cologne is used for money laundering are also being investigated.
