AllUnity is launching a new stablecoin pegged to the US dollar, expanding its digital asset lineup as dollar-pegged tokens continue to dominate the global stablecoin market.

The new token, USDAU, will maintain a 1:1 peg to the US dollar through segregated reserves and debut on Ethereum, Solana, Base, Tempo, Arc and Polygon, AllUnity said in a Wednesday announcement shared with Cointelegraph.

AllUnity, regulated under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA), already issues euro-backed EURAU, Swiss franc-backed CHFAU and Swedish krona-backed SEKAU stablecoins. CoinGecko measures EURAU’s market capitalization at roughly $400,000 and CHFAU’s at about $45 million.

The launch comes as European policymakers debate the implications of dollar stablecoin dominance. US dollar-pegged tokens account for more than 99% of the roughly $291 billion global stablecoin market by capitalization, according to CoinGecko.

The European Central Bank warned in June that greater use in European tokenized finance could deepen dependence on the dollar and weaken the euro’s role.

Cointelegraph approached AllUnity for comment on the role of European issuers in the US dollar stablecoin market and concerns over Europe’s reliance on dollar-denominated stablecoins, but did not receive a response by the time of publication.

Bitcoin's September Performance Nears Record High as 'Red September' Curse Appears Broken

Bitcoin is up 7.33% in September 2026, on track for its best September performance in Coinglass history, narrowly surpassing the 7.29% gain in September 2024. After early-month volatility driven by a failed Senate vote on the Clarity Act and a Federal Reserve rate hike, Bitcoin rebounded with strong ETF inflows and a short squeeze, reaching $87,354 before pulling back to around $83,000. Technical indicators remain bullish, and a close above $83,600 would secure the monthly record, extending a potential four-month green streak.

COMP Token Purchase via DAO Reserves Sparks Governance Debate in Compound Protocol

On-chain data shows Compound DAO reserves were used to acquire 344,780 COMP tokens 58 minutes before a May 5 voting snapshot, delegating them to the Compound Foundation to support Proposal 582. Though the proposal passed unanimously, the purchase has reignited debate over whether the Foundation’s use of DAO assets for voting power complies with reserve mandates, with critics alleging a breach and the Foundation asserting continuity-of-governance compliance.
