An eruption occurred at the Anak Krakatau Volcano

An explosion occurred at 23.07 local time at the Anak Krakatau Volcano, located on Indonesia's Anak Krakatoa Island. The volcano spewed lava between midnight and 06:00.

It was stated that the warning level for the volcano is at the 3rd level, which includes the "alarm" status. In the statement made by the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), it was said: "People do not need to panic, but they need to be alert." Authorities warned residents and tourists not to enter prohibited areas and not to approach the volcano to watch or record the eruption.

At least 430 people lost their lives due to the tsunami that occurred after the eruption of the Anak Krakatau Volcano, which is approximately 157 meters high, in December 2018.
