More bombs exploded in Rome, four in the space of 24 hours

A trail of explosions has been crossing the outskirts of the capital for months, with new episodes concentrated in the last few hours. Two rudimentary devices exploded during the night in Castelverde, damaging the shutter and the external area of ​​a bar in via Massa San Giuliano. Just twenty-four hours earlier two paper bombs had exploded in Casal Bruciato and Tor Bella Monaca. A sequence on which the investigators' spotlight is on, who do not rule out connections between some episodes. Among the hypotheses, a settlement between groups linked to the drug context after a series of operations and arrests.

In Castelverde, after the report and intervention of the police, no injuries were reported. On the previous night, however, the two explosions had damaged the glass of the entrance door of a building and the glass of some windows in via Casal Bruciato. Similar dynamics for the explosion in via Giacomo Galopini, in the Tor Bella Monaca district, which also damaged the two apartments on the ground floor of the building.

While investigations are underway to clarify a possible relationship between the events, attention has been high for some time. The episodes have been following one another since April 29, 2025. "We ask that Minister Piantedosi urgently come to the chamber to inform us about the serious state of security in Rome. Citizens witness the bombs exploding outside their homes", MP Alfonso Colucci said in the Chamber.
