Garlasco, Sempio: 'My innocence will be proven'. The defense is ready to request the suspension of the preliminary hearing

Andrea Sempio is "ready to face this phase of the proceedings before the preliminary hearing judge" and is "convinced that his "innocence" will be proven". This is what we learn, through his lawyers, in relation to the request for trial against the 38-year-old made by the Pavia Prosecutor's Office for the murder of Chiara Poggi.

"There is nothing new, nothing unexpected. We are absolutely ready to face this accusation", says the lawyer Liborio Cataliotti, who with his colleague Angela Taccia defends Andrea Sempio, on 'Dentro la notizia', the program on Canale 5 hosted by Gianluigi Nuzzi, the indictment.

"The accusation seems to me to be structured according to what were the expectations, certainly not rosy, but absolutely expected - adds Cataliotti, according to whom "the crime and aggravating circumstances correspond to the notice of the end of the investigation".

Once the preliminary hearing is set by the Pavia preliminary hearing judge, after the request for committal to trial made today by the prosecutors, Sempio's defense will ask the judge, as already reiterated several times by lawyers Cataliotti and Taccia, to suspend the proceedings. The hearing, essentially, according to the defense which will also propose a question of constitutional legitimacy to the Council in the case, must remain 'frozen' while waiting for the review judgment on Alberto Stasi to be defined. Request for review which has not yet been presented by the Stasi defense.

The preliminary hearing could take place "next year", says the lawyer Cataliotti, again during the program 'Dentro la notizia' on Canale 5. "Hypothetically it could also be held by the end of the year, but since the file is gigantic I think that the preliminary hearing judge will need time to study it as we needed it", added Cataliotti, therefore hypothesizing the preliminary hearing for next year.
