Andy Diaz wins third Diamond League triple jump final in Brussels

Another Diamond in Andy Diaz's collection. In Brussels the European champion wins his third Diamond League final in the triple jump as an Italian (the fourth overall) by jumping 17.74 (-0.6) on the first attempt and immediately putting the result in the safe. The duel with Pedro Pichardo was won: the Portuguese stopped at 17.50. That of the Italian-Cuban athlete is the ninth crown of the circuit that has been won by an Italian athlete, a haul that started just in 2020, with the first victory of Gianmarco Tamberi. For Diaz it is also the tenth stage success in the Diamond League.

Fourth place for Leonardo Fabbri in the shot put final: the Florentine does not improve on the 22.02 of the first attempt, while the Jamaican Rajindra Campbell - already in the lead - finds the 23.08 at the last which gives him the definitive success and becoming the fourth best thrower ever by measurement.

Nothing to do for Zaynab Dosso in the 100 meters, seventh in 11"26 in a race won by the Jamaican Tina Clayton in 10"96.
