Brazil beats Tanzania 4-1 in the debut of the U20 Women's World Cup

The women's football team's journey to this year's U20 World Cup, taking place in Poland, started in the best possible way. This Saturday (5), the Brazilians beat Tanzania 4-1, in Bielsko-Biala, in Group B of the competition.

Dominant on the field, Brazil opened the scoring in the 13th minute. Midfielder Vitorinha, from São Paulo, took a free kick from the left, the Tanzanian defense tried to clear it away and the remainder was left to defender Thaynara, from Botafogo, who finished from the half-moon, hitting goalkeeper Nusra Jafari's corner.

At 37, defender Sofia, from Flamengo, brought down Winfrida Gerald inside the area, after a wrong pass from goalkeeper Thais Lima, from Benfica (Portugal). The midfielder herself took charge and left everything the same before the break.

The Brazilian team was unfazed and took the lead again three minutes into the final stage. Midfielder Nogueira, from Ferroviária, launched Evelin on the left wing. The Santos attacker beat defender Asha Omary with speed, invaded the area and shot hard and low, with no chance of defense.

At 22, the Nogueira-Evelin partnership started working again. The midfielder played over the marking for the striker to arrive, behind Omary, again on the left side. The Brazilian, with another cross finish, scored her second goal.

The green and yellow triumph was confirmed in the 35th minute. After a foul by Omary on Grêmio's striker Gisele, almost at the edge of the area on the left, Vitorinha took the free kick perfectly, looking for the right corner of Jafari, who still touched the ball, but without being able to avoid the fourth of coach Camilla Orlando's selection.

The Brazilians return to the field on Tuesday (8), at 10 am (Brasília time), against Canada. Three days later, the opponent will be England, at the same time. The two games will also be in Bielsko-Biala.
