15 suspects arrested in Ankara: 95.5 million TL fraud with fake heritage garden

In the studies carried out against the crimes of 'qualified fraud' and 'forgery of official documents' by the Ankara Police Department Financial Crimes Branch Directorate teams under the coordination of the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office; A simultaneous operation was organized in Istanbul, Zonguldak, Bursa, Denizli, Kütahya and Izmir, based in Ankara. While 15 suspects were caught and detained during the operations, sales documents, payment receipts and fake documents belonging to many people were seized during the searches carried out at the suspects' homes and workplaces.

THEY SOLD IT AS AN INHERITANCE

It was determined that the suspects introduced themselves as the cooperative president, cooperative vice president and accountant member. It was determined that the suspects claimed that they had inherited a land that actually belonged to TOKİ and sold the land to 20 different people through fake documents they prepared. By examining the account movements obtained from the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK), it was determined that the suspects received unfair financial benefits of approximately 95 million 500 thousand liras. Investigations also revealed that, apart from the 20 people who applied, approximately 80 more people made payments to the suspects by writing the same island and parcel information in the description section of the money transfers. Upon this determination, it was evaluated that the same land could have been sold to many more people using forged documents.

THEY TRANSFERRED THE MONEY TO CRYPTO ACCOUNTS

It was determined that the suspects transferred the money to cryptocurrency applications in order to lose track of the unfair gains they obtained from fraud and to make it difficult to track money movements. 7 of the 15 suspects who were referred to the judicial authorities after their procedures at the police station were arrested by the criminal judgeship of peace. Judicial control measures were implemented against other suspects.
