35 Suspects in Yahşihan Municipality Corruption Investigation were Referred to the Prosecutor's Office

The statements at the prosecutor's office of 35 suspects, who were caught by the Kırıkkale Chief Public Prosecutor's Office within the scope of the corruption investigation against Yahşihan Municipality and sent to the courthouse after their procedures at the gendarmerie the previous day, have been completed.

35 suspects, including former mayors Ahmet Sungur and Osman Türkyılmaz, were then referred to the judge.

While 15 suspects, including Sungur and Türkyılmaz, were arrested, 2 were given house arrest and 18 were released on condition of judicial control.

A judicial control order was also issued for a suspect who was in prison for another crime.

On the other hand, efforts to capture a fugitive suspect continue.

OPERATION

Kırıkkale Chief Public Prosecutor's Office issued a detention order for 37 suspects, including former mayors Ahmet Sungur and Osman Türkyılmaz, as well as deputy mayors, municipal council members, municipal employees and business people, on September 24, within the scope of the corruption investigation against Yahşihan Municipality.

35 of the suspects, who were investigated for the crimes of "establishing an organization for the purpose of committing a crime", "being a member of an organization established for the purpose of committing a crime", "bribery", "extortion", "tender rigging" and "fraud to the detriment of public institutions and organizations", were detained in a simultaneous operation in 4 provinces.

One of the suspects was found to be in a penal institution, while the other could not be found at his address.
