Three people killed in head-on collision between car and truck in Chuo Ward, Chiba City

Around 4:15 a.m. on the 29th, a man who witnessed the incident called 110 at the national highway intersection in Soga, Chuo Ward, Chiba City, saying, ``An accident between a car and a truck.The car is on fire.'' According to Chiba Prefectural Police, a car and a truck collided head-on, killing three of the four people in the car. Prefectural police will continue to confirm the identities of the three people and investigate the detailed cause of the accident.

According to prefectural police, three people who were passengers in the car were killed. The driver, a 19-year-old man from the same ward, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the truck, a 57-year-old man from Sakura City, the same prefecture, was also transported to the hospital, but his injuries were said to be minor.

Based on the circumstances at the scene, it appears that the car crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with the truck.

The scene is an intersection where a two-lane national highway and a city road intersect, about 1 km south of JR Soga Station.
