High school baseball team's minibus collides with height restriction bar in Tsu City, transporting 8 members

At around 7:50 a.m. on the 26th, on a city road in Minamiiejo, Hakusan-cho, Tsu City, a microbus carrying 13 people, including baseball team members from nearby Hakusan High School, collided with a ``height restriction bar'' in front of an elevated bridge on the JR Meimatsu Line. As a result of this accident, eight male club members were taken to the hospital, three with serious injuries including broken cheek bones, and three with minor injuries. The 45-year-old male teacher who was driving was not injured.

According to Tsunan Police Station, the minibus was carrying 11 teachers, male club members, and one female manager. The height limit on the city road under the viaduct was 2 meters, but the height of the microbus was approximately 2.6 meters. It is said that the minibus was severely damaged near the driver's seat, and that the members may have fallen inside the bus or hit the seats, causing injuries as a result of the collision.

The club members were said to have been on their way to a high school in Otsu City for an expedition, and police are investigating the cause of the accident.
