Leaked technical details about Apple's first foldable iPhone model

Despite the high price prediction, IDC analysts estimate that if a foldable iPhone model is released, global foldable phone sales will grow by 19 percent and Apple could take a 24 percent share of this market alone.

Leaks indicate that the new model is produced in the form of a horizontally opening book instead of a structure with a vertical cover.

According to analyst estimates, the device will have a 5.5-inch external screen when folded and a 7.8-inch internal screen when opened. It is predicted that its thickness will remain between 4.5 and 4.8 millimeters when open and 9 to 9.5 millimeters when closed.

It is claimed that the screen will almost completely eliminate the fold line and that liquid metal alloy and titanium components provided by Liquidmetal Technologies can be used in the hinge mechanism.

It is stated that due to the thinning of the body, Face ID technology may be replaced by the Touch ID system integrated into the power button.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman argued that the device will offer the ability to run applications side by side rather than a free multi-window structure similar to the iPad.

The device is expected to include two rear cameras and a front camera that can work on both the interior and exterior screens.

On the hardware side, it is claimed that the foldable model will come with a battery with a capacity of 5,500 mAh, the largest battery used in an iPhone.

According to analyst Jeff Pu's notes, both the foldable phone and the iPhone 18 family are expected to be equipped with 12 GB RAM.

Apple has not yet made an official statement on the issue.
