Apple aims to increase transparency by marking content created by artificial intelligence on the Apple Music platform with the "Made With AI" label.

In an official notification sent to its music industry partners, Apple announced that it will switch to a new tagging system for artificial intelligence-generated content on the Apple Music platform. According to information obtained by Hollywood Reporter, the company will add the phrase "Made With AI" to the contents that will be visible to all users on the platform later this year.

While it is aimed to identify music created using artificial intelligence technology and increase transparency, this step seems to be a candidate to become a new standard in the music world.

Artificial Intelligence Labels Aim to Offer Transparency

Last March, Apple announced the "Transparency Labels" system that allows content producers to declare the use of artificial intelligence. This practice, which was initially optional, is evolving into mandatory with the new decision. The company requires this marking to be made whenever a significant part of the content is created by artificial intelligence.

In particular, parts derived directly from an artificial intelligence platform and whose outlines are created automatically will be evaluated in this context.

Uncertainties about the use of artificial intelligence in the music world are eliminated with new regulations.

Sectoral Data Shows the Impact of Artificial Intelligence

Apple Music Vice President Oliver Schusser shared interesting statistics in his statement last April. According to Schusser, more than one-third of the content uploaded to the platform monthly is produced entirely by artificial intelligence.

However, despite this high loading rate, the listening rates of these tracks remain below 0.5% of the total traffic.

This proves that although AI-generated content is abundant in quantity, it has not yet become mainstream in listener preferences.

Audit Processes Are Conducted with Precision

The company states that it has a special internal system that can detect content created by artificial intelligence. However, Apple still emphasizes that the responsibility largely lies with the content providers.

Artists and record companies are expected to honestly declare whether artificial intelligence technology is used in the work produced. These new labels are planned to be available to all users later in the year.
