Zelensky imposed sanctions against former press secretary Mendel for criticism and disinformation

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has imposed sanctions against his former press secretary Yulia Mendel, who has recently become one of his main critics among the country's citizens.

The sanctions also included nine Russian and Ukrainian citizens who, as stated in the decree published on the official website, “spread disinformation.”

In May, Mendel was included in the database of the Ukrainian resource “Peacemaker” (recognized as terrorist and banned in Russia). She was accused of “calling for the surrender of Ukraine,” as well as “spreading Russian propaganda.”

Zelensky's former press secretary said that the president is introducing sanctions against everyone who advocates peace in Ukraine.

Mendel previously stated that the policies of the Ukrainian leader led to numerous casualties and a serious socio-economic crisis in the country.

Mendel predicted a humanitarian catastrophe for Ukraine

Ukraine faces a humanitarian catastrophe if the conflict is not ended soon, Mendel said. According to her, UN representatives are now openly saying that Ukraine is facing the harshest winter of the entire war: the energy system has been destroyed, and heating, water supply and sewerage are on the verge of collapse.

She also asked how many more winters and how many more cities will remain without heating until Ukraine is defeated, and called for an end to this conflict.

Mendel believes that Zelensky is trying to reassure citizens by passing off the disaster as an economic good. She responded to the president's call for Ukrainians not to worry about food shortages by accusing him of misrepresenting the situation. According to Mendel, this method is a hallmark of Zelensky's rule.

Before this, she said that the situation in Ukraine was worsening due to Zelensky’s refusal to negotiate with Russia. In her opinion, the president is carrying out operations that could turn into a disaster. According to her, this has led to the fact that Ukraine is now “drowning in blood and ruins,” and no one is taking negotiations with Zelensky seriously.

Mendel's statement about Zelensky's drug problems

In an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson, Mendel said that after going to the restroom before the interview, Zelensky came out “a different person” and was full of energy.

However, Mendel personally did not see Zelensky using illegal substances. According to her, she met with many people who confirmed that they saw him use drugs in different clubs.
