The New Taipei City Greening and Landscaping Office assisted the Tamsui District Office to install 10,000 plants on the 500-meter central separation island of Section 2 of Xinshi 2nd Road (Section 2 of Shalun Road to Section 1 of Houzhou Road) on the important traffic arteries of Danhai New Town. In March this year has been completed. The Landscape Office pointed out that this greening and beautification project uses different plant heights, leaf colors and flowering periods to stretch colorful ribbons on the road. It not only greatly enhances the streetscape of the new town, but also provides a new visual experience for local residents and commuters.
The Landscape Department stated that the original landscape of the central separation island was relatively monotonous. After the Landscape Department's skillful transformation, the four seasons will show different color rhythms, using a multi-layered planting configuration that combines visual hierarchy and color aesthetics. The central separation island has been carefully configured with tens of thousands of trees. Rhododendrons, dazzling golden-leafed trees, passionate redwoods, and elegant red colored trees are supplemented by 302 square meters of emerald green Taipei grass surrounded by colorful shrubs, which not only fills the space, but also creates a smooth green edge along the dividing island.

The Landscape Department explains that when vehicles pass by here, drivers and passengers can feel the intertwining and shining red, yellow and green plants on both sides. The deep red color of the red colored wood and the golden color of the gold-leafed wood are like a colorful landscape corridor. By integrating "green aesthetics" into the main traffic arteries, the asphalt road is transformed into a green artery of the city, and the landscape is well prepared for the international gateway image of the Tamjiang Bridge.
Lin Junde, director of the Landscape Department, said that urban green aesthetics is the most direct way to improve residents' happiness. He would like to thank the Tamsui District Office and the local district chief for their help in gathering the expectations and opinions of local people during the planning and design period, and combined with the execution of the professional greening team to make the greening project more relevant to local needs. With the completion of the "Damjiang Bridge", the city government has also simultaneously started micro-shaping of the environmental landscape of the surrounding core living circles. Through the planting and renovation of the central separation island of Xinshi 2nd Road, it demonstrates the determination of the city government and local governments to work together to optimize the living environment.
