This festival is based on the advantages of red resources in Guyuan's revolutionary old areas, uses culture to shape tourism, and tourism to develop industry, promotes the deep integration of red resources with ecological cultural tourism, rural revitalization, and characteristic industries, and comprehensively displays the red context of Liupan Mountain and the new development of the old revolutionary areas.

Guyuan is the only prefecture-level city in Ningxia that is an old revolutionary base and has a rich red heritage. Relying on rich red resources, the local government continues to revitalize the Long March cultural IP. At the opening ceremony, five Guyuan red tourism boutique routes were officially released to the public, connecting Liupanshan Red Army Long March Scenic Area, Jiangtaibao Red Army Long March Reunion Memorial Park, Renshanhe Martyrs Cemetery, Pengyang Maobao Underground Transportation Station and other red landmarks, integrating Long March trails, red hiking, real-life study and other immersive experience content, taking into account red education and ecological tourism, providing tourists with diverse red travel options.

At the event site, the five counties and districts of Guyuan took turns to stage special cultural and artistic programs, combining the red historical facts and ecological development styles of various places to vividly reproduce the glorious revolutionary years and the development style of the new era in Liupan Mountain. A comprehensive agricultural, cultural, tourism and commercial exhibition opened simultaneously on site, gathering 60 booths including red cultural displays, intangible cultural and creative products, agricultural specialties, and specialty food, building a platform for cultural and tourism consumption, production and marketing, and enriching the masses’ cultural and tourism experience.
It is understood that the series of activities of this Red Cultural Tourism Festival will last until September 29, running through the prime time of cultural tourism before the festival. The festival integrates eight major themed supporting activities. In addition to the poetry recitation by thousands of people in the early stage, it will also successively launch a red song bonfire party, a comprehensive red agriculture, culture and tourism exhibition, a symposium on the high-quality development of red culture, a special cultural performance, a red study and observation, The 90th Anniversary of the Long March Victory stamp launch, youth charity assistance to farmers, and other diverse contents were rolled out across the entire area using a three-dimensional model of "main venue + sub-venues, online + offline" to continue to amplify the effect of the red festival and activate the autumn and winter cultural tourism consumer market in old areas.
