China News Service, Nanning, September 6th (Yang Chen, Ning Qiongxi, Luo Yuxuan) On September 5th, under the precise guidance of the first batch of pilots from the Pinglu Canal, the "Guangxing 798" successfully berthed at the No. 10 berth of the Liujing Port Area of Nanning Port, Guangxi, and completed the full-process real-life operation of berthing, loading and unloading, and production scheduling. This move not only fulfills the inland city of Nanning's dream of "sea-going ships entering Yong", but also marks a historic breakthrough for water transport in the upper reaches of the Xijiang River to reach the river and the sea.
Nanning Port is an inland river port affiliated to Guangxi Beibu Gulf International Port Group Co., Ltd., and assumes the function of the inland river terminal hub of the Pinglu Canal river-sea combined transport. Berth 10 in Liujing Port Area is the core main berth after the upgrade of Nanning Port. It is newly equipped with a 41-ton-19-meter light quay crane. The equipment has high precision, stable operation and strong adaptability. It can fully meet the operational needs of 5,000-ton ships that can reach rivers and seas, and can efficiently complete the loading and unloading of containers, breakbulk cargo, heavy items and other types of cargo.
The "Guangxing 798" ship berthing this time is a specialized river-to-sea cargo ship specially adapted for river-sea transportation. It has a total length of 84 meters, a ship width of 18 meters, and a designed draft of 3.95 meters. It can adapt to the navigation conditions of narrow inland waterways and meet offshore navigation standards. The ship is mainly responsible for the transportation of domestic trade containers and bulk cargo, and is highly adaptable to the navigation standards of the Pinglu Canal and the river-sea intermodal transport scenario.
The ship's entry into the river to berth and unload cargo is an on-the-spot test of the collaborative capabilities of the port's entire operating system, including channel access, pilotage dispatch, terminal loading and unloading, and smart management and control. It comprehensively connects the water logistics link from the upper reaches of the Xijiang River to the Hainan Free Trade Port, ensuring that the route will be open immediately after the Pinglu Canal is officially opened to navigation, and the operation will be efficient and smooth.
For a long time, goods going out to sea from Nanning Port have required multiple transfers and connections. The transportation chain is long, time-consuming and has high logistics costs. The successful berthing of this sea-going ship has opened up a convenient water transportation channel from the upper reaches of the Xijiang River to the Hainan Free Trade Port, greatly simplifying the transfer link, shortening the transportation time, reducing the logistics costs of southwest enterprises, and truly achieving cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and quality improvement.
Analysts pointed out that "sea-going ships entering Yong" will completely break the bottleneck of "access to the river but not the sea" in inland ports, optimize Guangxi's overall water transport layout, and improve the river-sea-land multimodal transport system. At the same time, it will open up a new, more economical and efficient inland river channel to the sea for Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Chongqing and other southwest hinterlands of China; greatly enhance the hub energy level of Liujing Port Area, drive the agglomeration of industries such as port-side manufacturing, bulk trade, warehousing and shipping, and fully release the vitality of the inland river economy.
