Independent lawmaker Han Dong-hoon said on the 10th, "I filed a complaint against Kim Min-seok, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, at the Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul on charges of spreading false information."
Representative Han met with reporters before attending the plenary session of the National Assembly on this day and said, "I have never received any information or cooperated with the prosecution. There is no prosecutor with the guts and courage to hand over such things to the prosecution under the Lee Jae-myung administration, so wake up from your dream."
Previously, Democratic Party leaders, including Representative Kim, even mentioned the possibility of being expelled from the National Assembly, saying, "An incident that cannot occur if there is no collaborator within the prosecution" and "a gate for leaking investigation data" in response to a situation where a lawmaker raises suspicions about Justice Minister candidate Kim Seung-won every day.
In response to the Democratic Party's demand to reveal the informant, one lawmaker said, "How is this different from a gangster who went to jail thanks to reports from victims, and later finds out who he is? I will risk my life to protect the informant."
Regarding the ruling party's tendency to force the appointment of candidate Kim, he raised his voice, saying, "If that happens, the Lee Jae-myung administration will be ruined," and "President Lee Jae-myung also has a chance. Withdraw the nomination of Kim Seung-won. After today, President Lee will also be an accomplice."
As Rep. Han continued to lead the offensive related to Candidate Kim, the People Power Party revealed conflict between factions over whether or not Rep. Han should be included in the personnel hearing.
At the Supreme Committee meeting held at the National Assembly on this day, Woo Jae-jun, a member of the Supreme Youth Committee of the Chin Han Dong-hoon faction, said, “Currently, the person who is leading the public discussion of this case is Rep. Han,” and urged, “He must attend the hearing.”
He added, “The only way to enter (the hearing) is to restore the People Power Party membership and become a People Power Party member. I propose that the leadership cancel or suspend the disciplinary action against one member and make him a member of the hearing committee.”
Then, Cho Kwang-han, a nominated member of the party's ruling faction, responded by saying, "(Rep. Han) was expelled from our party because he is suspected of criminal activity. It is not appropriate. He is a person who really likes playing alone, so I think he should continue to play alone."
Floor leader Jeong Jeong-sik met with reporters after finishing his highest position and drew a line, saying, “Because the National Assembly Act stipulates the number of negotiating groups and independent members for each standing committee, independent members cannot be resigned or appointed like our party members.”
Regarding the 'cancellation or suspension of disciplinary action' against a lawmaker, he said, "Basically, if a party's disciplinary action is temporarily suspended due to some necessity, it shakes the foundation of the party's existence."
Regarding the People Power Party conflict surrounding him, Rep. Han emphasized, "I think we should fight together. Now, we need to prevent someone who has been exposed as the 'poison lobby' from becoming the head of a government department in the Republic of Korea."
Addressing Supreme Council member Cho, who criticized him, he said, "He is from the Democratic Party. I think he should go to the Democratic Party. I don't mind those people making noise. I will fight with the Democratic Party anytime, anywhere and I will win."
Meanwhile, during the question-and-answer session between a lawmaker and reporters that day, a man believed to be an official from the Prime Minister's Office intervened, causing a commotion.
This man opened a Telegram chat room titled 'Prime Minister + Key Executive Room' on his cell phone and asked a question about a lawmaker's criticism of Prime Minister Han Seong-sook. When a lawmaker tried to confirm his identity, he answered "an ordinary person."
A lawmaker later revealed on Facebook that the man in question was Mr. Lee, head of the planning department at the Prime Minister's Office, and wrote, "The content of the questions and the aggression were strange, so I asked which reporter he was from. He pretended to be a reporter, but then lied and said he was an ordinary person. This is truly absurd and grotesque."
