National Power cited about 20 people, including Yong Hye-in's husband and an underground organization, as witnesses.

Accordingly, the general meeting of the National Assembly Gender Equality and Family Committee, which was scheduled on this day to discuss the issue of adopting a personnel hearing implementation plan, was also canceled 50 minutes before the 11 o'clock meeting began.

The cancellation of this meeting appears to have been due to issues with the selection of witnesses as well as the personnel hearing schedule.

The ruling Democratic Party of Korea is insisting that the hearing be held on the 18th in line with the schedule of confirmation hearings for other ministerial candidates, but the People Power Party is fighting back by presenting a plan for the 21st or 22nd.

Regarding witnesses, the Democratic Party was found to have put about seven people on its list of witnesses and references, including former government figures such as Kim Haeng, a former People Power Party emergency response committee member who was nominated as a candidate for Minister of Gender Equality and Family in the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, and former Prime Minister Han Deok-soo.

It has been reported that the People Power Party is preparing to request 28 people as witnesses, including Basic Income Party officials, including Candidate Yong's husband, Park Ki-hong, the top member of the Basic Income Party, and Kim Gil-oh, CEO of Korea Board Games, who is linked to the 'under-organization' suspicions.

Under the Personnel Hearing Act, attendance requests for witnesses and references must be served at least 5 days in advance to be legally binding. Accordingly, if a personnel hearing is held on the 18th, the list must be confirmed by this day in order to force the attendance of witnesses and references at the hearing.
