Minister Bayraktar attended the business forum held between Türkiye and Germany's North Rhine-Westphalia State. Addressing Turkish and German business people at the meeting, where State Prime Minister Hendrik Wüst also attended, Minister Bayraktar said, "Germany continues to be our main trade partner in Europe, and North Rhine-Westphalia is at the heart of this relationship." he said.

THE MANUFACTURING SECTOR IS IN TROUBLE

Minister Bayraktar stated that the recent geopolitical crises revealed the importance of energy security and resource diversity and said, "We saw this during the recent energy crisis in Europe; the sudden increase in energy costs led to sharp inflationary pressures and left the energy-intensive manufacturing sector in a difficult situation." he said.

ENERGY INDEPENDENT Türkiye

Stating that Turkey shaped its policies in line with these facts, Minister Bayraktar said, "Our entire national energy policy is built on three pillars; securing energy supply, eliminating dependence on energy imports and continuing to move towards our 'Net Zero Emission' target by 2053. Our ultimate vision is simple but powerful: A Turkey with complete energy independence." he said.

75 PERCENT FROM WIND AND SOLAR

Minister Bayraktar stated that they ranked third in electricity consumption in Europe, after Germany and France, and that more than 63 percent of the installed power exceeding 125 thousand megawatts was made up of renewable sources, and that in 2025, electricity produced from wind and solar energy would meet approximately 75 percent of all industrial consumption.

NEW GENERATION PROJECTS

Emphasizing that corridors such as TANAP and Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan not only meet domestic demand but also actively strengthen Europe's security of supply, Minister Bayraktar said, "Based on this deep experience, we can implement new generation joint projects with our German partners, ranging from natural gas and green hydrogen to modern electricity networks and critical materials." he said.

THE IMPORTANCE OF FINANCE

Minister Bayraktar pointed out the importance of financing in this context and said, "According to the International Energy Agency, global clean energy investments need to exceed 4.5 trillion dollars annually in the early 2030s to achieve 'Net Zero' targets. Despite the record level of spending on a global scale, actual investments are still far behind the amount needed." he said.

THE DETERMINING ROLE OF GERMANY

Stating that Germany's financial power, capital support and risk sharing in joint ventures can play a decisive role in closing the financing gap, Minister Bayraktar said, "By combining Turkey's project execution capacity with Germany's financial means, we can turn ambitious transition goals into tangible assets that can be financed." he said.

VOLUME OF 11.2 BILLION EUROS

Before the forum, Minister Bayraktar had a one-on-one meeting with Westphalia State Prime Minister Wüst. Minister Bayraktar, who made a statement about the meeting on social media, said, "We are determined to support our strong trade volume, which has reached 11.2 billion euros with North Rhine-Westphalia, with sustainable investments that will meet the clean energy needs of the industry and reduce its foreign dependency." he said.

STRONG COOPERATION

Regarding the "Turkey-North Rhine-Westphalia Round Table Meeting", which he attended with business people, Minister Bayraktar said on social media: "We will continue to determinedly support this strong cooperation that will make a great contribution to the energy supply security and sustainable development of both countries." He shared.
