Arrested suspect who stole more than one billion dong of gold jewelry in Vinh Long

Thach Hung broke into a woman's house, stole nearly 8 taels of gold jewelry, worth more than one billion VND, then hid in many places and went to Mui Ne to rest.

On September 7, Hung (19 years old, residing in Ngai Tu commune) was criminally detained by Vinh Long Provincial Police for property theft.

According to the initial investigation, on the morning of August 27, Hung broke into Mrs. Lang's house (55 years old, living in the same commune) when she took her grandchild to school. He went into the bedroom, pried open the cabinet and took the necklace, bracelet, 24K gold ring weighing 7 tael and 18K gold bracelet weighing 8 tael and one million dong in cash. Total estimated asset value is more than one billion VND.

After committing the crime, Hung sold some gold, took more than 200 million VND to buy necklaces, gold bracelets, and scooters and fled through many provinces and cities. Then, from Ho Chi Minh City, he rented a car to take him to Mui Ne (Lam Dong province) for vacation.

During the National Day holiday of September 2, reconnaissance teams tracked down the suspect and arrested him at a hotel on Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street, Mui Ne Ward. At the police station, Hung admitted all his actions.

Vinh Long Provincial Police have seized many related evidence.
