They hid it in the plastic of the suitcase: 16.6 million liras worth of drugs were seized in Ağrı

According to the statement made by Doğubayazıt District Governorship, Gürbulak Smuggling and Intelligence Directorate teams checked the luggage of an Iranian national who came to the passenger hall of Gürbulak Customs Directorate to enter Türkiye from Iran.

During the checks, 4 kilos 442 grams of methamphetamine with a market value of 16 million 657 thousand 500 liras, hidden in the plastic parts of the suitcases, were seized.

In the statement, it was stated that the fight against drugs and smuggling will be continued with determination, and the Gürbulak Smuggling and Intelligence Directorate personnel who took part in the operation were thanked.

TRAFFIC INSPECTIONS CONTINUE IN DOĞUBAYAZIT

On the other hand, in the statement made by Ağrı Provincial Police Department, data regarding traffic inspections carried out by Doğubayazıt District Police Department teams between January 1 and October 22, 2026 were shared.

In this context, 1 thousand 151 motorcycles and mopeds were checked, 112 motorcycles that were found to be against the rules were banned from traffic, and legal action was taken against 23 motorcycle drivers.

During the inspections, 329 people wanted for various crimes were caught and handed over to the judicial authorities. In the statement, it was noted that the fight against crime and criminals will be continued with determination in order to ensure the peace and security of the province.
