According to State Duma deputy Alexei Kurinny, the knowledge gained in a driving school affects the safety of all road users.

The introduction of a rating will force driving schools to improve the quality of training and service so as not to lose customers.

MOSCOW, October 11 - RIA Novosti. The first open state rating of driving schools will appear in Russia in 2028, it will include training results for 2027, State Duma deputy Alexey Kurinny told RIA Novosti.

“The introduction of an open state rating of driving schools is a good initiative. According to the order of the Russian Minister of Internal Affairs, the first such rating for assessing the effectiveness of the implementation of driving school training programs will appear in 2028 - based on the results of 2027,” Kurinny said.

The parliamentarian noted that the safety of both the future driver and all other road users depends on the knowledge gained in a driving school.

“We all see how many drivers there are on the roads who seem to have never heard of the skills and culture of safe driving. Including because there are schools where they don’t really teach, but simply train them to pass a specific exam route. With the introduction of this rating, driving schools will have to try not to lose the flow of clients: buy high-quality cars, improve the qualifications of instructors, change teaching approaches if previous methods work poorly,” he concluded.

The list of indicators and criteria for assessing the effectiveness of organizations involved in driver training came into force in Russia on May 28, 2026.
