This joint exercise is not only a practical test of the hospital's emergency response capabilities, but also opens a new chapter in police-medical collaboration and air-ground integrated emergency rescue.

In the future, the two parties will establish a closer collaboration mechanism: on the one hand, they will carry out joint air medical rescue drills on a regular basis; on the other hand, they will rely on the professional advantages of the National Orthopedic Medical Center and municipal emergency medical rescue bases to carry out special training such as air medical rescue to improve the on-board medical treatment capabilities of rescue personnel.

The preset scenario for the exercise was a ship collision in offshore waters, resulting in multiple people falling into the water and being injured. After receiving the rescue order, the hospital immediately launched an emergency response plan. The hospital's Lingang campus took the lead in dispatching the nearest rescue force. At the same time, it coordinated with the hospital's Xuhui campus to be prepared to receive critically ill patients.

After the rescue team arrived at the scene, they quickly carried out injury classification and treatment, quickly assessed and marked the injured according to their severity, and conducted emergency treatment for the injured. At the same time, the drone operation and maintenance support team controlled the drone loaded with emergency medicine to take off from the Lingang hospital area and accurately delivered it to the rescue site, providing material support for on-site treatment.

During the drill, a wounded patient showed signs of traumatic shock due to pregnancy combined with multiple traumas, and was in critical condition. He needed to be immediately transferred to a trauma center equipped with a hybrid operating room and comprehensive treatment capabilities. After evaluation at the hospital's general consultation, the injured patient met the indications for air transport.

When ground traffic is blocked, helicopters become the best choice to "open the passage to life." The rescue team quickly completed the stabilization of the injured and the connection of life support equipment, and a helicopter flown by the Police Aviation Corps of the Shanghai Public Security Bureau took off from the Lingang Campus.

As an important force in urban air rescue, the Police Aviation Corps of the Shanghai Public Security Bureau has demonstrated its hard-core role in providing support for major events and handling emergencies many times with its superb flight technology and rich rescue experience.

The multidisciplinary team has been ready to carry out emergency surgery and comprehensive treatment seamlessly, fully presenting the treatment chain of "air transport - hospital admission - compound surgery".

Lingang Hospital District simultaneously coordinated the ground rescue forces and cooperated with the 120 emergency center to carry out ground diversion and transfer in batches for the remaining seriously injured and lightly injured patients to achieve graded, accurate and efficient treatment of the injured.

It is reported that this actual combat exercise relied on the newly opened helipad of the Lingang Campus of the Shanghai Sixth Hospital, and cooperated with the Police Aviation Corps of the Shanghai Public Security Bureau to open up a normalized air rescue channel between the Xuhui and Lingang campuses.
