Bekayi claimed US responsibility for insecurity in the Strait of Hormuz

Bekayi made statements regarding the agenda in the television program he attended.

Commenting on the process of determining a temporary new route for ship passage in the Strait of Hormuz, Bekayi said, "Iran and Oman are planned to make statements about the negotiation process and its results. Permanent security in the region will only be achieved within the framework of trust and cooperation with neighboring countries. In this regard, a meeting of foreign ministers of the Gulf countries will be held. At the meeting, we will inform other riparian countries about the latest situation regarding the Strait of Hormuz. The strait was open before the attacks, Iran had to maintain its security after the attacks." he said.

Bekayi claimed that his country adhered to its obligations in the memorandum of understanding reached with the USA, but the USA broke the agreement.

Reminding that the insecurity in the Strait of Hormuz was caused by US initiatives, Bekayi said that the US should be condemned due to increasing oil prices.

Bekayi also referred to United Nations resolution 3314 and stated that economic and maritime blockade could be considered as an attempt of aggression and that the relevant country had the right to defend itself.
