Special Consumption Tax Regulation on Gasoline and LPG: Eşel Mobile System Ended, Gradual Increase Began

The Presidential Decision on the subject was published in the Official Gazette.

With this Special Consumption Tax regulation, a new era has begun in gasoline and LPG.

Accordingly, the ecel mobile system application, which was put into operation in order to avoid reflecting global fluctuations in fuel prices and exchange rate movements to the consumer, has been completed as of today.

In order to combat inflation and prevent sudden price shocks in the market, the tax increase on gasoline was divided into months, similar to the regulation made for diesel in August.

LPG HAS BEEN RETURNED TO THE PRE-EŞEL MOBILE SYSTEM

In LPG, the system was returned to the pre-mobile system.

Accordingly, the Special Consumption Tax amount, which was last applied as 9.2190 lira per kilogram for LPG type goods within the scope of the ecel mobile system, was increased to the level of 11.3830 lira per kilogram before this system.

Due to this Special Consumption Tax regulation, an increase of approximately 1.48 lira is expected in the LPG autogas pump price as of today.

GRADED SCT AMOUNT ON FUEL

The 12.47 lira price increase in gasoline, which was expected due to the return to the pre-ecel mobile system, was prevented by bringing back the SCT gradually, not all at once.

With the end of the Esel mobile system, it was expected that an SCT increase of 10.39 lira per liter would be made on gasoline under normal conditions, the SCT amount would be 14.8277 lira, which was the amount before the esel mobile, and this would be reflected as an increase of approximately 12.47 lira in the pump price.

However, in order to reduce the price pressure in the market, a "gradual transition" model was introduced for gasoline, similar to the regulation made for diesel in August.

Accordingly, the SCT amount on gasoline was determined as 7.9000 lira per liter in October, 11.3600 lira in November and 14.8277 lira in December (pre-echelon SCT amount).
