Brazil: Lula rises in the polls towards the elections

The president of Brazil and candidate for re-election Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva is once again growing in voters' preferences. This is what emerges from a new survey carried out by the Nexus institute, commissioned by the investment bank Btg Pactual, according to which Lula is ahead of his main challenger, Senator Flavio Bolsonaro.

In the first round the head of state received 42% of voting intentions, compared to 37% for Bolsonaro. Compared to the previous survey, the president gains three points, from 39%, while the senator gains two points, from 35%. Among the other candidates, Augusto Cury (Avante) drops from 9% to 6%, Ronaldo Caiado (PSD) rises from 4% to 5%, while Renan Santos (Missao) goes from 4% to 2%. Romeu Zema (Novo) and Samara Martins (Up) remain at 1%.

Even in the runoff Lula regains ground on Flavio Bolsonaro and goes from 45% to 47%, while the senator remains at 46%. The comparison, therefore, remains technically equal, but in the previous survey Bolsonaro was ahead by one point.

Even in the other scenarios the president improves: against Caiado he goes from 46% to 47%, while his opponent drops from 43% to 41%, against Zema he rises from 47% to 49%, while the former governor goes from 40% to 38%. Against Renan Santos Lula grows from 47% to 48%, while the Missao candidate drops from 39% to 37%. Finally, in the comparison with Cury, Lula goes from 43% to 45%, while Avante's candidate drops from 45% to 42%.
