FIFA sues UEFA over allegations against Gianni Infantino

The International Football Federation (FIFA) has filed a lawsuit against the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) due to the spread of misinformation about the head of the organization, Gianni Infantino. Sky Sports reports this.

“UEFA’s actions are organized in bad faith. “Without any basis, UEFA assumes that Mr. Infantino sought to personally profit from the proposal related to the World Cup,” FIFA said in its statement of claim.

The document also notes that UEFA statements on this topic were made in anticipation of the FIFA presidential elections, which will be held in March 2027. According to the authors of the lawsuit, in this way, European football associations are trying to influence the course of the electoral process, and the court should stop these attempts.
