A special symposium on Huashang studies and a press conference on academic achievements were held

China News Service, Nanjing, November 7th. A special symposium and academic results conference on Chinese business studies was held in Nanjing on the 7th. With the theme of "Chinese Business Wisdom·A New Chapter in Managing the World", the conference took the research on fashion business as the entry point, bringing together experts and scholars at home and abroad to promote the construction of the theoretical system of Chinese business studies and the innovation and deepening of research on fashion business.

The Research Institute of Chinese Business Studies, Pujiang College, Nanjing University of Technology, is the first domestic academic research institution named after "Chinese Business Studies". It focuses on Southeast Asian trendy merchants, Thai Chinese businessmen and other characteristic directions, and integrates multidisciplinary perspectives to study the historical context, spiritual concepts and business practices of global Chinese businessmen. Li Wenhai, chairman of Pujiang University, said that studying trendy business studies "not only misses the predecessors, but also moves to the forefront" and "is not for retrospect, but for revival." He hopes to integrate the efforts of all parties to sort out the practical context of Chaozhou business, continue to promote the compilation of theoretical works such as "Introduction to Chaozhou Business", and provide academic support for overseas Chinese businessmen to go overseas and Sino-foreign economic, trade and cultural exchanges.

The domestic premiere and book donation ceremony of "Cai Xufeng - Chaoshang Business Philosophy and Management Thought" was held at the conference site. This book is the result of the 2025 major special project on international trendy business research by the Chinese Business Professional Committee of the China Business History Society. Based on Cai Xufeng’s business practice, it integrates the traditional spirit of trendy businessman, the development experience of Zhengda Group, Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism culture, and Go strategic thinking. It systematically explains the path through which traditional culture empowers the governance of multinational enterprises. It is officially released to the academic community.

Long Denggao, Distinguished Professor of Changjiang Scholars of the Ministry of Education and Director of the Chinese Business Research Center of Tsinghua University, gave academic reports on topics such as Chinese businessmen and the overseas spread of Chinese culture, Shanxi businessmen's financial model and its changes, the establishment of modern Chaozhou businessmen from the perspective of the Chaoyang Chensi Joint Batch Bureau, overseas Chinese batches and credit immigration, and the growth of Chaozhou businessmen.

Xu Zhijian, deputy dean of the Huashang Studies Research Institute, and Qian Yunran, assistant to the president and secretary-general of the institute, respectively introduced the research framework of "Introduction to Trendy Business Studies". The framework focuses on the establishment of Chaozhou Business Studies, commercial credit and transnational finance, Chaozhou Business Entrepreneurship and decision-making mentality, organizational governance and industry selection, overseas Chaozhou Businessmen and transnational networks, and from Chaozhou Businessmen to Chaozhou Business Studies. It connects ancient and modern times, connects domestic and overseas, and lays the foundation for the theory of Huashang Business. Experts participating in the meeting focused on issues such as improving the manuscript, supplementing historical materials, case selection, and theoretical deepening to build research consensus.

The Chinese Business Studies Research Institute of Pujiang University stated that it will continue to delve into the field of Chinese businessmen and trendy businessmen, further explore the historical wisdom of Chinese businessmen, and serve the overall situation of overseas Chinese affairs and Sino-foreign economic, trade and cultural exchanges.

This conference is an important academic part of the "Overseas Chinese Gathering in Pujiang and Integrated Development" activities of Nanjing University of Technology Pujiang College. It is hosted by Nanjing University of Technology Pujiang College and the Chinese Business Research Center of Tsinghua University, hosted by the Chinese Business Studies Research Institute of Nanjing University of Technology Pujiang College, and co-organized by Chaozhou Yanfeng Academy.
