Neymar suffers a thigh muscle injury and is out for up to eight weeks

Brazilian Santos striker Neymar (34 years old) suffered a type 2B muscle injury to the rectus muscle of the right thigh. This was reported on the website Sports.ru.

The injury was received in the return match of the 1/4 finals of the Brazilian Cup against Palmeiras, which ended in a 0:0 draw. Neymar felt discomfort in his thigh and was replaced after the first half. The examination revealed a muscle injury; recovery will take four to eight weeks.

The footballer is undergoing treatment and recovery at the Rei Pele training center under the supervision of the club’s medical staff. After the game, Neymar criticized the quality of the pitch at the Vila Belmiro stadium.

After two matches, Palmeiras reached the semi-finals. The first meeting ended with a score of 3:0 in favor of the guests.

This season, before his injury, Neymar made 24 appearances for Santos in all competitions, scoring eight goals and providing eight assists.
