46 disadvantaged households were given new houses, and more than 250 students had their learning conditions improved from a support program of nearly 8.5 billion VND in Ca Mau.
On September 4, the Office of the Police Investigation Agency - Ministry of Public Security coordinated with Ca Mau Provincial Police and the Dream Maker Foundation (DMF), sponsored by VNG Group Joint Stock Company, to hand over 46 houses to households in difficult circumstances, along with school buildings and a people's bridge in the province.
46 houses were built in Ganh Hao commune (23 houses), Gia Rai ward (12 houses) and Dinh Thanh commune (11 houses). Of these, 22 apartments have an area of 40 m2, construction cost is 108 million VND each; 24 apartments of 50 m2, worth 123 million VND each. The houses are equipped with a living room, one to two bedrooms and a bathroom, helping families have a solid and safe place to live.
Along with housing support, the program will build, repair, renovate and supplement equipment for four schools including Huong Sen kindergarten, Phong Thanh primary school at cluster 23, Gia Rai ward; Vang Anh kindergarten and Dang Thuy Tram primary school in Hoa Phong hamlet, Dinh Thanh commune.
The items focus on essential needs such as preschool classrooms, toilets, facilities and teaching equipment, thereby improving learning and living conditions for more than 250 students.
At cluster 23, Gia Rai ward, more than 30 preschool children aged 4-5 years old had to study in the elementary school's room because they did not have their own classroom. Through field surveys since May, the Creating Dreams Foundation also recorded that many households live in unstable, degraded, and dilapidated houses, while facilities at some schools are still lacking.
Mr. Tran Cong Dinh, representative of the households receiving the house, said that before, his family lived in a dilapidated house, and every time there was a storm, they had to worry about water splashing and the roof leaking. Being supported to build a new house helps the family feel secure in living, reduces the burden and has more motivation to improve.
Major General Tran Van Toan, Deputy Chief of the Office of the Police Investigation Agency - Ministry of Public Security, acknowledged the companionship of the Dream Creation Fund and VNG Group Joint Stock Company in social security activities in Ca Mau. According to Mr. Toan, the program not only provides material support but also contributes to realizing the dream of safe homes and spacious schools for people and children in difficult circumstances. The simultaneous implementation of housing, schools and civil infrastructure projects helps support closer to the actual needs of the locality.
He assessed that the handed over projects are a testament to the business's sense of responsibility to the community, while also showing sharing with people in areas with many difficulties.
According to Ms. Truong Cam Thanh, Chairwoman of the Board of Management and Director of the Creating Dreams Fund, from the actual needs in Ca Mau, the fund chose to simultaneously deploy items on housing, education and civil infrastructure to improve living, learning and living conditions for people.
The Foundation hopes to continue replicating this approach in difficult areas, helping more families have stable housing and children can study in a spacious and safe environment.
The program is part of a series of activities responding to the movement "The whole country joins hands for the poor - leaving no one behind", and aims to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Office of the Police Investigation Agency (December 31, 1951-December 31, 2026).
According to the Creating Dreams Fund, by August this year, the unit had coordinated with many ministries, branches and localities to implement education and social security programs in Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Hue, Dien Bien, Tuyen Quang, Ca Mau and Truong Sa special zone, with a total budget of more than 15 billion VND.
