The visit took place against the backdrop of a scandal over a publication in the Haaretz newspaper that the sheikh allegedly warned Netanyahu about a planned Hamas attack.

Benjamin Netanyahu used the private jet of an Israeli businessman for the flight and stayed in the UAE for several hours.

TEL AVIV, September 28 - RIA Novosti. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu secretly visited Abu Dhabi on Sunday to meet with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Kan state broadcaster reported.

The visit took place against the backdrop of a recently erupted scandal in connection with a publication in the Haaretz newspaper that Sheikh bin Zayed allegedly warned the Israeli Prime Minister about a planned attack by Hamas on the eve of October 7, 2023. According to the newspaper, Netanyahu did not pass this information on to the intelligence services. The Prime Minister himself strongly rejected these allegations in the press, which were also not confirmed by the UAE.

"Netanyahu visited the United Arab Emirates today (Sunday - ed.) and met with President Mohammed bin Zayed. Netanyahu's office did not announce the visit," the Kan publication said.

According to the state television and radio company, the Israeli Prime Minister used the private jet of an Israeli businessman for the flight, which is also used by other high-ranking government officials for flights around the world. Netanyahu stayed in the UAE for several hours.
