Candidate Roberto Cidade participates in a walk in Manaus and highlights proposals against fires

The candidate for the government of Amazonas, Roberto Cidade (União Brasil), participated in a walk on Campo Grande street, Redenção neighborhood, Central-West Zone of Manaus. Along the way, he greeted traders and residents, and highlighted proposals to combat the fires.

Roberto Cidade is running for the position for the União Progressista Federation, formed by União Brasil and Progressistas, in coalition with Podemos and the Brazilian Socialist Party (PSB). The candidate became governor of Amazonas in May this year, after being indirectly elected by the Legislative Assembly of Amazonas (Aleam).

During the agenda, Cidade highlighted the proposals of the government plan to combat fires in the state. Among them, the increase in the number of firefighters and expansion of Fire Department units to all municipalities in Amazonas.

"We have already delivered Fire Department units practically throughout the interior. More than 25 units have been delivered and our forecast is that in the next four years we will be able to reach all 61 municipalities in the interior with modern equipment. We have increased the number of Fire Department personnel, today we hired another 150 firefighters to go to the interior to monitor and guide our population."

Candidate Roberto Cidade gave an interview to a local radio station in the morning, in Manaus. During the afternoon, he participated in another interview with a news portal. In the evening, he participated in meetings in the Central-West, Central-South and West areas.

Elections 2026

The electoral campaign began on August 16 across the country. Candidates can now advertise on the streets and on the internet. On TV and radio, advertising began on Friday (28). The first round of elections will be on October 4th.

This year, Brazilians will vote for:

president;

governor;

senator;

federal deputy;

state deputy.
