Candidates for the DF government intensify campaign with promises of health, sport and infrastructure

Candidates for the government of the Federal District maintained an intense pace of campaigning this Saturday (5) – a date that "inaugurates" the last month of the electoral campaign before the first round vote, scheduled for October 4th.

Aspirants for the Palácio do Buriti spread across different regions of the DF, such as SIA, Paranoá and Taguatinga.

At the events, in addition to asking for votes, politicians spoke with regional leaders and made promises on a variety of topics – improvements in water and energy supply, faster healthcare services and proposals to revitalize commercial areas, for example.

Celina Leão (PP)

Candidate for re-election, Celina Leão (PP) dedicated the morning to a meeting with supporters in the Industry and Supply Sector (SIA). There, he commented on the impact of heavy rains this Friday (4) on the energy supply in several regions of the Federal District.

Current governor of the DF, Celina said that she has reinforced supervision of Neoenergia's services.

At the end of the afternoon, Celina Leão participated in a race on Eixo Monumental. Asked about proposals for the area of ​​sport and leisure, she said that, if re-elected, she intends to expand and democratize the population's access to this type of activity.

"I think that sport and leisure have to be at the doorstep of the citizen's home. I built 200 km of cycle path in these four months [of government]. When I build a cycle path, I give an opportunity for a person to walk, for their children at the doorstep of their house. I did it now in Ceilândia, in Taguatinga", he listed.

Leandro Grass (PT)

PT candidate for the government of DF, Leandro Grass participated in a breakfast at the Casa de Cultura Popular Martinha do Coco, in Paranoá. There, he met with residents and community representatives – and heard demands from those who live in the region.

Still in the morning, Grass also met with the local community of Núcleo Rural do Boqueirão. For them, he promised improvements in the health area and defended the expansion of primary care and greater agility in care.

"We are going to work on health in its entirety. With reference hospitals, such as the Orthopedic Hospital, which we are also going to inaugurate, which was started in Guará, and the Oncological Hospital. These hospitals will provide highly complex surgeries, exams and treatments, preventing diseases. It is health close to home, as we propose, which is the expansion of primary care", he said.

In the afternoon, Grass continued in the Paranoá and Itapoã region. He spoke to residents, distributed leaflets and traveled the streets in an electric trio.

Arruda (PSD)

Former governor José Roberto Arruda returned to Taguatinga for another motorcade this Saturday (5). On top of an electric trio and alongside supporters, Arruda walked through the region's main streets waving to the population. Afterwards, he went down and talked to residents and traders.

Asked about proposals for the region, Arruda defended changes to Avenida Comercial to reinvigorate economic activity in the area. He also repeated that he intends to build new Metro and VLT lines.

Arruda also stated that, if elected, he intends to use the DF Administrative Center – which has been empty since its inauguration 14 years ago and began to be effectively used this week.

"Centrad will reinvigorate life and commerce in Ceilândia, Taguatinga, Samambaia. Secondly, [I will] resolve Avenida Comercial. The avenue is dead, they made a one-way lane, it killed commerce. We are going to go back to what it was before, reinvigorate that commerce", he defended.
