Canoe slalom: Xabier Ferrazzi wins the World Cup, second place for Giovanni De Gennaro

The Italian Xabier Ferrazzi won the general classification of the K1 canoe slalom world cup after winning silver in the last race of the circuit in La Seu d'Urgell (Spain). Bronze medal for Giovanni De Gennaro who thus achieved second place overall. It is the first time that two Italians finish the cup circuit in the lead.

Ferrazzi had reached the last CDM event as leader of the standings and second place behind the Frenchman Titouan Castryck allowed him to take the title with a total of 302 points. De Gennaro, Olympic champion in Paris 2024, rose to 282 points, thus preceding the Czech Jakub Krejci, third with 264 points.

Before the 21-year-old from Valstagna, his father, Pierpaolo Ferrazzi (1990-1992), and the current sporting director Daniele Momenti (2010) won the general cup classification.
