The non-specialized school twins passed the Military Technical Academy thanks to the national Informatics award

Not attending a specialized school, Thanh An and Thanh Khang joined hands and went straight to the Military Technical Academy with a national prize in Informatics - a rare feat.

Le Thanh An and Le Thanh Khang, former students of Dai Ngai High School, last weekend from Can Tho City to Hanoi to enroll at the Military Technical Academy (MTA). Both won the third national prize in Information Technology - a rare achievement for non-specialized school students.

"We all want to study Engineering and have stable jobs after graduation," An and Khang said, feeling "proud and happy" when they achieved their dream.

Among more than 400 candidates entering the military program and nearly 700 students entering the civilian program of the Military Technical Academy this year, this is the only pair of twins, also rarely seen in decades.

An and Khang grew up in the Southwest region, their father worked as a farmer and their mother worked as a teacher. Both said they were passionate about science and technology, especially information technology, so they supported each other in their studies.

In addition to studying in class, An and Khang study in-depth documents, solve advanced programming problems, and participate in summer learning camps and exchange programs in many localities. According to the two brothers, this helps them make new friends with the same passion, and see gaps in knowledge to continue to build on.

With Computer Science, An and Khang determined that they must be patient and careful to study well. Because this subject does not stop at theoretical lessons or common computer operations, but also complex logic and algorithm problems, requiring strict analysis and reasoning processes.

"To thoroughly solve a problem, learners not only need to think creatively but also know how to divide the problem, build an optimal algorithm model, choose an appropriate programming language and conduct careful testing," both acknowledged.

The turning point in An and Khang's educational journey came in 11th grade, when they participated in training at the specialized high school of the former Soc Trang province to prepare for the exam for excellent students at all levels.

Here, both were constantly challenged with difficult problems, requiring advanced algorithmic thinking. After each exercise, we often sit down together to analyze, test and search for more effective algorithms. The two always discuss frankly how to approach math problems, support each other in checking the parts they have done and encourage each other to overcome exam pressure.

As a result, both won first prize in the Informatics contest for excellent students at the provincial level and then continued to win third prize at the national level last school year.

Standard score of Military Technical Academy 2026

Entering the Military Technical Academy, An and Khang said they were prepared to face all difficulties. After enrolling on September 4, the two went to Training Center 125 of the Military Technical Academy in Phu Tho to participate in initial training for about 6 months.

An and Khang hope that in addition to studying, they will continue to participate in Olympic exams for students, and become good and excellent students when they graduate.
