Car with 4,500 packs of cigarettes overturns during PRF escape in Acre

A car carrying 4,500 packs of cigarettes overturned while fleeing an approach by the Federal Highway Police (PRF) this Wednesday morning (30), on BR-317, in Senador Guiomard, in the interior of Acre.

According to the PRF, the vehicle was identified during an inspection carried out at the location. Upon noticing the presence of the police, the driver did not obey the order to stop and began to escape. During the attempt to escape the approach, the driver also made dangerous maneuvers on the highway.

The merchandise was seized by the PRF and remained with the Federal Police along with the two parties involved and the vehicle for appropriate procedures. According to the police, the vehicle came from Bolivia with illegal cargo.

Police treated the two occupants of the car and removed them from the vehicle. They did not file any complaints of serious injuries.

Even so, they were taken to the Dr. Ary Rodrigues General Hospital, in Senador Guiomard, where they underwent medical evaluation. After treatment, those involved were taken to the PF, in Rio Branco, where they remain detained.

During the inspection of the vehicle, the police found nine boxes of cigarettes. The men said they bought the merchandise in Vila Evo Morales, which is close to Plácido de Castro, in the interior of the state.
