Car stolen from police station yard in São Luís is recovered by police in Morros

According to the State Secretariat for Public Security of Maranhão (SSP-MA), the vehicle was found during an action by the 27th Military Police Battalion (27th BPM). The two prisoners were identified by the initials I.D.P. and C.R.S.A.

Priscilla's car had been stolen on Saturday (19), in São Luís, and recovered by the police two days later. After being taken to the Cajazeiras Central Station, the vehicle disappeared from the police unit during the early hours of Tuesday (22).

The Civil Police Internal Affairs Unit opened a preliminary investigation to determine the circumstances in which the car was removed from the unit where it was in custody and what procedures were adopted during the period.

The investigation is conducted by the Capital Civil Police Superintendence (SPCC) and the Vehicle Robbery and Theft Police Station (DRFV). During the investigation, police officers went to the residence of one of the suspects, in the Vila Palmeira region, in São Luís.

As the investigation progressed, the teams received information that the car was being taken to the interior of Maranhão. The investigation continued until the police identified the region where the vehicle was traveling.

This Friday morning, teams from the 27th BPM, based in Rosário, received information about the presence of a vehicle in a suspicious situation in the Morros region. The police approached, located Priscilla's car and arrested the two men who were in the vehicle.

According to SSP-MA, during the incident, the prisoners provided information about the origin of the vehicle and about an attempt to take it to Urbano Santos. Still according to reports passed on to the police, there was already a possible negotiation for the sale of the car in the municipality.

The SSP-MA reported that investigations continue to clarify the entire dynamics of the case and identify others involved.
