CSTO exercises begin in Russia

Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) exercises have begun in Russia, the country's Ministry of Defense announced. Information about this appeared on the department’s Telegram channel.

It is reported that the exercises started at the Chebarkulsky training ground. The opening ceremony was attended by the Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, Colonel General Andrei Serdyukov, Deputy Secretary General of the organization Mirlan Turgunbekov, as well as the leaders of the military contingents.

According to Serdyukov, these exercises are necessary because the world is experiencing an extremely difficult military-political situation. “The further degradation of international relations, as well as the approach of zones of instability directly to the borders of our states, contribute to the growth of challenges and threats to military security,” he added.
