Serbian President Vučić said EU candidate countries are tired due to the long enlargement process

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that countries applying for membership in the European Union are tired due to the long process of expanding the union. He said this during the general political debates of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, he was quoted by TASS.

At the same time, Vucic emphasized that full membership in the EU remains a strategic priority for Serbia. According to him, the country's citizens are counting on greater certainty and concrete results of the multi-year process.

As Vucic emphasized, Serbia received candidate status in 2012, and began accession negotiations in 2014 - more than twelve years ago. He noted that the process turned out to be long and complex. According to him, fatigue is observed not only among the candidate countries, but also in some member states of the association.
