Celine Dion makes her comeback on stage in Nanterre

It's the evening long awaited by hundreds of thousands of fans around the world, who have gathered in Paris. Céline Dion gives her first concert on Saturday September 12 at the Plénitude Arena in Nanterre, for her big return to the stage. She will give 26 in total, by the end of May 2027, in front of nearly a million spectators who rushed to the squares as soon as the announcement was made last March.

It will inevitably be a large-scale spectacle, a historic show even, thought out and rehearsed in its smallest details for months. The concert will last around two hours, on the huge stage of the Plénitude Arena, with mainly giant screens which will project videos looking back on the career of Céline Dion and marking the different stages of the concert, divided into several stages.

Celine Dion rehearsed the show at her home in Las Vegas, at the Palms Studio, where she brought in dozens of collaborators. Then, at the Plénitude Arena, in Nanterre, in real conditions for around ten days, surrounded by all the musicians who will accompany her on this unique residency.

The faithful will be on stage with her, starting with Scott Price, her musical director for ten years. It was he who accompanied her on the piano on the Eiffel Tower during the opening ceremony of the Paris Games two years ago. On sound, Denis Savage, and on scenography, a newcomer: Willo Perron, a Montrealer who has worked on major events for Rihanna or Lady Gaga, in particular. As for the musicians and backing singers, there will be eighteen on stage, including faithful guitarist Jeff Smallwood. All these little people for a concert which should start early, without a first part. The prestigious guests who will sing a duet with Céline Dion have, for the moment, been kept secret.

Mystery guests

Céline Dion will sing titles in French, of course, but also many songs in English, more than during her previous concerts in France, because the expected audience is much more international for this exceptional return. Spectators will be treated to unifying hits, as well as a good part of his cult album, D'eux, written by Jean-Jacques Goldman.

He is back in business and is working on the album expected next year, of which he notably wrote the first single, Let's Dance. On this album, we will find collaborations with Francis Cabrel, Grand Corps Malade, Stromae and Ycare, the author of the second single, Bonjour, Pardon, Merci. Many contemporary female pop singers also sent texts.

The wildest rumors are circulating about the artists who could go on stage with Céline Dion until the end of May. But the production, the tour operator AEG, who reunited with the singer after the costly cancellation of her dates since 2020, and the singer's close guard absolutely want to keep the mystery until the last moment. And each of the 26 dates should hold a few surprises.
