Lincoln Aircraft Carrier Statement from CENTCOM Commander Cooper

CENTCOM Commander Cooper made a written statement after his visit to the Lincoln aircraft carrier, which has caused controversy in the American public in recent weeks.

Cooper responded to the discussions that the psychological state of the personnel on the ship, who had been on duty in the Middle East for a long time due to the Iran war, and some of the health conditions on the ship were not good.

Regarding the psychological health of the personnel on the ship, the US commander said, "Among the 11 active aircraft carriers of the US Navy, Lincoln is currently one of the ships with the lowest number of mental health-related cases." he said.

Cooper noted that they are aware of the difficulties experienced by the ship's personnel, who have been on duty continuously for approximately 250 days, and that they know that everything on the ship is "not perfect", and that all kinds of support are provided to the personnel.

Brad Cooper called the resilience and teamwork of the crew aboard the aircraft carrier Lincoln "awe-inspiring."

Cooper's statements came after Democrats in the House of Representatives expressed "deep concern" about the welfare of the sailors and the condition of the ship and sent a letter to Navy Deputy Hung Cao.

While family members also expressed their concerns about the health of the crew, some news suggested that sailors attempted to jump off the ship due to extreme conditions.

The US military announced that it was preparing to replace USS Abraham Lincoln with the USS George Washington aircraft carrier.
