Cersanit is planning group layoffs. Nearly 500 people may lose their jobs

Reason for group layoffs at Cersanit

Among the reasons for the planned employment reduction, the company mentions primarily a significant increase in the costs of energy and raw materials needed for production. The company also draws attention to problems related to the Ukrainian market. This concerns persistent disruptions to both production and trade. At the same time, the demand for Cersanit products was to be lower than previous assumptions. The company also recorded a decline in the number of orders and sales.

In this situation, the management board decided to limit the scale of operations. Production is to be focused on more effective machinery, which will allow the company to adapt its operations to current market conditions.

Last week, representatives of the District Labor Office in Krasnystaw appeared at the Cersanit plant. Employees affected by the planned reductions could obtain information on assistance after losing their job.

Both during individual consultations at the company's headquarters and at the employment office, information was provided to dismissed people about available forms of assistance, said Kamil Hukiewicz, deputy director of the District Labor Office in Krasnystaw.

According to the information contained in the layoff notification, the company did not provide additional support programs for people losing their jobs.
