Former CHP Izmir Deputy Aytun Çıray claimed that Özgür Özel and his entourage took the money from the deductions from the salaries of the MPs when they left the CHP. Çıray claimed that party executives obtained signatures from MPs on blank papers due to urgent transactions, and that these signatures were used in bank transactions. Claiming that the money in question amounted to billions of liras, Çıray said, "The state cannot be handed over to them." he said.

Referring to internal party practices and deductions from MP salaries, Aytun Çıray included the following statements in his social media post:

"Great claim! Money is deducted from the salaries of the MPs of that party for the needs of the Party Group Managements. Of course, it was deducted from me too. Also, for urgent transactions, for example, signatures are taken from the MPs on blank paper in case it is necessary to appeal to the Constitutional Court. Of course, I also signed. But even in the remotest corner of our minds, we never imagined that the executives of our party @herkesicinCHP would use our signatures in bank transactions. And this has never happened in any party."
