CHP Member Özel Announced His Meeting with Mansur Yavaş and Talked About the Future of the Party

Özel answered journalists' questions and evaluated the agenda in the live broadcast of KOZA TV.

Asked "What will be his party's strategy for the next election against the changes in the management of municipalities since the local elections on March 31, 2024?", Özel said: "We will eventually reach that ballot box and win that election. I have no hesitation about that." he said.

"Did you feel bitterness about not being under the umbrella of CHP and not being at those celebrations on the anniversary of its founding?" To the question, Özel said, "This of course makes one feel bitterness, but it is not possible to see the current structure as a Republican People's Party." he replied.

Özel emphasized that CHP did not hold a real celebration today and that this situation caused pain in his heart, and said:

"Otherwise, the founding anniversary of the Republican People's Party is the founding anniversary of all of us. We will hold the congress of the New Party, I call the first congress we will hold the second congress. Why? The first one was the Sivas Congress, as Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk said. We are in such a period that those who are not in the Republican People's Party right now are much more than those who are there. In fact, if they had love for the party in their hearts, they would not have put the party through this. Those who were expelled from the party, those who were gassed and expelled from the party are now in the party. "They love that party more than what happened. Institutionally, we are now in the New Party and we are walking to power as the New Party. We are not looking back."

"I DO NOT DOUBT ANYTHING ABOUT MANSUR BEY"

Asked about President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's reception of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş and Yavaş's absence from attending the CHP's founding anniversary reception today, Özel said that he was aware of both situations.

Özel continued as follows:

"Mr. Mansur told me that he wanted to ask for an appointment regarding some investments and projects. In our last meeting, he said, 'Something like this will happen, for your information.' he said. Mr. Mansur is very sensitive and clear on these issues. We have such a real friendship and brotherhood with him. There is no problem with that. I don't doubt anything about Mr. Mansur. "This is a meeting that Ankara planned in advance for its interests and held with our knowledge and approval."

Asked whether there will be a cooperation with CHP regarding the presidential candidate, Özel answered as follows:

"It is never possible for us to cooperate with them in any way. Talking about a presidential candidate with someone who has no power or any social repercussions will have no benefit other than wearing out that presidential candidate. We talk about our presidential candidate with all legitimate opposition, we have nothing to do with illegitimate opposition."
