Trump Addressed the Republican National Convention and Claimed He Won the Iran War

Trump attended the 2-day Republican Party National Congress, which was held in Dallas, Texas, and brought together Republicans and gave a speech.

Speaking mainly about domestic policy, border security and economy, Trump argued that they had taken very important steps during his presidency and brought the country to a much better point than before.

Trump claimed that the USA was in a bad situation both politically and economically during the Joe Biden era, and that the USA recovered after he became president.

Stating that the USA implemented an "open border" policy and that he put an end to it as soon as he took office, Trump stated that they have reduced the number of irregular immigrants crossing the border to zero in recent months.

Referring to Democrats as "left-wing communists", Trump called on all Republicans to vote for Republican candidates in the midterm elections on November 3.

"We are winning the war with Iran"

In the part of his speech about Iran, Trump argued that they went to war with this country to prevent Iran from having nuclear weapons and said, "We are winning this war." he said.

"As soon as we win the war with Iran, which is going on right now, oil prices will fall. We will win this war." Trump said, "We control the trade in the Strait of Hormuz. I think we should give the Strait of Hormuz another name. We should call it 'Trump Strait'." made his assessment.

Emphasizing the issue of changing the name of the Strait of Hormuz, Trump said, "This is what it will be called, ladies and gentlemen. I will make an announcement about it, we will call it 'Trump Strait' and I am sure Iranian leaders will be very pleased with it." he said.

Stating that the USA intervened in Venezuela and gained serious control over this country, Trump praised the oil agreement they made with the Caracas administration.

Trump stated that the oil agreement in question made a significant contribution to the American economy, and that thanks to this agreement, they kept gasoline prices in the country under control to a certain extent despite the crisis with Iran.

National party congresses, traditionally held in the year of presidential elections in the USA and where the presidential candidates of the parties are officially announced, have an important place in the American political system.

The Republican Party National Congress, which was decided to convene before the Congressional midterm elections after Trump's call in June, represents a first in this respect.

The US President states that the congress in question is very important in terms of consolidating the Republican base before the midterm elections.
