Cyclist dies after being hit by truck in Carvalho Pinto, in Caçapava

According to the Operational Control Center of Ecovias Leste Paulista, the concessionaire that manages the highway, the accident happened around 6:10 am, at km 116, in the inland direction. The two other victims suffered minor injuries. The truck driver was not injured.

According to information gathered by the Transport Agency of the State of São Paulo (Artesp) at the scene, the truck was traveling along one of the lanes of the road when the driver lost control of the steering wheel and entered the shoulder, where the three cyclists were.

The cyclist's death was confirmed by the dealership's doctor at around 7am. There is no identity of the victim.

The shoulder was blocked for forensic work and congestion was recorded between kilometers 115 and 117. Military Highway Police teams also responded to the incident.
