CJ CheilJedang and Hite Jinro strengthen overseas market penetration with premium distilled spirits

The food and alcoholic beverage industry is strengthening its presence in domestic and overseas markets with premium distilled spirits with differentiated raw materials and manufacturing methods.

CJ CheilJedang [097950] announced on the 8th that it plans to launch the premium K-distilled liquor brand 'Jari' in the U.S. market this fall and target overseas consumers by linking it with K-food.

Zari is a distilled soju brand made by maturing the concentrate of domestic traditional liquor. CJ CheilJedang collaborated with Munbae Liquor Brewery and Danong Bio to launch ‘Jari Munbaesul 24’ and ‘Jari Gamuchi 24’ in Korea last July.

Ahead of their launch in the U.S., three Zari products won awards at this year's International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC) and International Spirits Competition (ISC).

At the IWSC, 'Jari Munbaesul 24' and 'Jari Munbaesul 41' received the silver award, and 'Jari Gamuchi 24' received the bronze award. At ISC, Jari Munbaesul 24 won the gold award, and Jari Munbaesul 41 and Jari Gamuchi 24 each won silver awards.

Hite Jinro [000080] is launching a limited edition of ‘Ilpoom Jinro 1924 Heritage’, which uses exclusive rice specializing in the production of distilled soju.

This product is a distilled soju with an alcohol content of 30 degrees, made using 100% ‘Ilpoom Jinro rice’ jointly developed and fostered by Hite Jinro and the National Institute of Crop Science, and made through three distillation processes.

Hite Jinro explained that through repeated distillation, it reduced the unpleasant taste and preserved the natural aroma and flavor of rice.

Ilpoom Jinro 1924 Heritage will be shipped on the 9th and sold sequentially at some restaurants, eateries, hotels, and large supermarkets nationwide.
