The electric car market is constantly growing and evolving. In 2026 the offer of available BEV models has not only expanded but has also been enriched from the point of view of autonomy which remains one of the most important criteria, especially in Italy for the possible choice of a full electric (in addition obviously to the price).
Growing autonomy
In 2026, however, the panorama has changed: some models now come close to, and in one case exceed, the 900 km of autonomy declared in the WLTP cycle, while even SUVs and more accessible models have reached levels that until a few years ago were reserved for premium sedans.

Lucid Air Grand Touring — up to 960 km
The Lucid Air Grand Touring occupies the top of the ranking thanks to a declared WLTP autonomy of up to 960 km, a figure that takes it beyond the 900 km threshold. The maximum value is linked to the most efficient configuration: Lucid indicates a range of 817-960 km depending on rims/wheels and configuration. The declared consumption data is interesting: up to 13.5 kWh/100 km in the most efficient configuration.
Mercedes-Benz EQS 450+ — up to 919 km
The Mercedes-Benz EQS remains a major player in the luxury electric sedan segment. The EQS 450+ version reaches 919 km WLTP, with a useful 122 kWh battery and a maximum DC charging power of 350 kW. The German company also declares the possibility of recovering up to 325 km of WLTP autonomy in 10 minutes. The strong point of the EQS is therefore not only autonomy, but the combination of large battery, efficiency and rapid charging capacity.
BMW iX3 50 xDrive — up to 805 km
The new BMW iX3 50 xDrive brings a range of up to 805 km WLTP. The German car manufacturer declares a WLTP consumption of between 15.1 and 18 kWh/100 km for this model. Actual range naturally depends on configuration, tyres, temperature, route and driving style. This is particularly significant because it is an SUV.
Audi A6 Sportback e-tron performance — up to 756 km
The Audi A6 Sportback e-tron performance reaches 756 km WLTP. The performance version uses a 100 kWh gross battery, 94.9 kWh net, and can recharge in direct current up to 270 kW. Audi also claims a transition from 10 to 80% in approximately 21 minutes under expected conditions. Aerodynamics is one of the fundamental elements for this model: the Four Rings mark indicates a drag coefficient of just 0.21 for the Sportback.
DS N°8 Long Range — up to 750 km
The DS N°8 FWD Long Range represents one of the most interesting cases among SUV coupés. The front-wheel drive version with 97.2 kWh battery reaches 750 km WLTP, while the AWD Long Range variant stops at around 688 km. DS also indicates around 500 km of autonomy on the motorway for the Long Range version, a figure that is much more indicative of real use than the simple WLTP value. DC charging reaches 160 kW and the transition from 20 to 80% takes approximately 27 minutes according to the data declared by the premium brand of the Stellantis group.
Volkswagen ID.7 Pro S — up to 709 km
The Volkswagen ID.7 Pro S brings the German sedan's range up to 709 km WLTP. It is a result achieved by focusing above all on efficiency: Volkswagen declares a combined WLTP consumption of around 136 Wh/km for the Pro S version, equal to 13.6 kWh/100 km. The Pro S Edition Plus version reaches 702 km.
Peugeot E-3008 Long Range — up to 701 km
Among family SUVs, the Peugeot E-3008 Long Range achieves 701 km WLTP. The Long Range version uses a 97 kWh battery and a 230 HP electric motor. Peugeot claims a 20 to 80% charge in around 27 minutes. This figure makes the E-3008 particularly interesting for those looking for a family car without moving on to large premium sedans.
Hyundai IONIQ 6 — up to 680 km
The Hyundai IONIQ 6 continues to stand out for its aerodynamic efficiency. The version with the 84 kWh battery can reach 680 km WLTP, with a declared combined consumption of 13.5 kWh/100 km.
Tesla Model 3 Premium — up to 660 km
The Tesla Model 3 remains among the most efficient electric sedans, even if in 2026 it will no longer occupy the absolute top positions in the ranking. The Model 3 Premium reaches 660 km WLTP in the configuration indicated by Tesla, while the standard rear-wheel drive version reaches 572 km. The brand led by Elon Musk also claims a charging of up to 282 km added in 15 minutes for the Premium.
Renault Scenic E-Tech Electric — up to 642 km
The Renault Scenic E-Tech Electric completes this selection with 642 km WLTP in the new Long Range version with 89 kWh battery. Losanga updated the Scenic in 2026 by introducing this NMC battery and also improving fast charging: from 15 to 80% in around 28 minutes, with peak power of 150 kW.
Big battery or efficient car?
The ranking shows two different strategies. The first consists of using very large batteries, as in the case of the Mercedes EQS or some versions of the Lucid Air. The second focuses more on efficiency, combining aerodynamics, weight and engine performance to obtain many kilometers with every kWh. The Hyundai IONIQ 6 and the Volkswagen ID.7 are particularly clear examples of this second philosophy: both achieve high ranges with relatively low WLTP consumption.
What autonomy is really needed?
