Climatempo and Inmet issue warnings for storms and heavy rain in Rio Grande do Sul

According to Climatempo Meteorologia, this Friday, instability is concentrated in the northern half of the state. Between the afternoon and evening, there is a chance of thunderstorms with hail and heavy rain, with accumulations expected to vary between 10 and 60 mm. The maximum temperatures are mild, between 12°C and 24°C.

On Saturday (15), instability affects a wider area of ​​Rio Grande do Sul. Between the afternoon and evening, there are conditions for isolated thunderstorms in the Northwest, North, Missões, Centro, Serra, Vales, the Metropolitan Region of Porto Alegre and the North Coast.

The wind can reach 80 km/h. The day starts with minimums between 11°C and 18°C ​​and maximums can be up to 28°C.

For Sunday (16), there are storm conditions with intense rain in several regions, including the Metropolitan Region of Porto Alegre. The day will have minimums between 13°C and 21°C and maximums between 19°C and 32°C.

The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) issued alerts for RS. For this Friday, there is an orange and a yellow warning for the northern half of Rio Grande do Sul.

The area with the greatest risk is close to the border with Santa Catarina. Accumulated rain can reach 100 mm, with winds between 60 and 100 km/h and hail. There is also a risk of electricity cuts, damage to crops, falling trees and flooding.

On Saturday, Inmet issued a yellow alert for the entire state of Rio Grande do Sul. A second warning, orange, indicates heavy rain with potential for damage in the Center of RS and the Western Border.
